A Fame of Two Halves - author interview
Kevin Mahoney's debut novel, A Fame of Two Halves is a story about a particularly unlucky manager of a particularly unlucky football team. The book has been described by Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat, as "a tremendous first novel – wry, funny and clever." Standing up for the human race
People are evil, aren't they? It's almost a given. We're unique in the animal kingdom. We fight wars, create terrible weapons and destroy our environment with our nefarious industrial practices. And there are those among us who do unspeakable things apparently for no reason other than a pathological need to do harm.
At the same time, we look in awe at the natural world, at its beauty, its harmony, and at the creatures who have no concept of evil, who kill only for food or in self-defence (usually, at least).
