Reality show relationships, do they ever work?

By: serenebeauty (12 May 2009)

I woke up this morning to hear some devastating news, shock (rather mock) horror Katie aka Jordan and Peter "Mysterious Girl" had split and heading towards the divorce express. I'm not naive, I expected them to be together for at least another 2 years because Katie was determined and as a romantic I wished them well because of the kids and their documentaries (ok, parading their life on TV).

Katie was and still is smart; a glamour model, author, mother, wife, sister, aunt, perfumes, clothing line, songstress "A whole new World, beauty and the beast", manager, property owner, horse rider, shag a footballer, date and marry a has-been pop-star. This is just a short list of her accomplishments to date.

Katie met and fell in love with Peter on a reality tv show. I am beginning to believe that this might have been a cleverly engineered publicity stunt and the expiration date was fast approaching. However, because I don't like Peter, he looks like a thumbsucker (not my ex-lover the THUMBSUCKER, he is unique), he saw an opportunity to reactivate his fame, he seized it but and sadly, he could never achieve the same heights as Katie. As his male pride became deflated, he probably began to resent his wife's success rather than share in the delights.

Perhaps the whole thing was a Chantelle & Preston moment- just for entertainment. I feel sorry for the kids but this is the way of the world. I hope that the divorce will be amicable, (what relationship dissolution is ever amicable). I think that Jordan/Katie will be stronger and not say much in the public eye, regarding this. She just needs time to heal. I am sure that she will meet her life partner soon, but girlfriend, don't be bitter.

The key to a succesful relationship is to communicate honestly and keep it private, especially when you are in the public eye, a huge task but it can be done. Don't ever make a program about it, Jessica Simpson is another example.
