Laughing Out Loud At Omid Djalili

These days my partner and I never seem to watch "live" TV. Our viewing pleasure seems to be dictated by that invention Sky Plus that makes a video recorder look so 20th century.
But last week in some random rare moment where one program finished and I was resisting the urge to go to sleep like the child that I am, there was a funny looking large middle Eastern (or if you prefer, British Iranian) bloke on TV telling jokes. And within 10 seconds, I was hooked and laughing out loud. Another program joined the already over subscribed Sky Plus.
The Omid Djalili Show is funny as shit – well, if you find shit and shit related stories, and bottoms and stuff like that dead funny – i.e. funny, not dead. But you know exactly what I mean, so I should quit trying. Omid is simply hilarious.
Omid's sketches are original. My favourite has got to be the continuing story of Henry VIII, the potty monarch with a penchant for wives who comes complete with regal attire and the usual classic setting. But Omid's Henry VIII opens his mouth to speak and I found myself laughing like I was high on laughing gas. OK, not the most original description, but funny shit.
My word of the day is shit. Bite me.
Omid's portrayal of Henry VIII is in fact so hilarious that with immense pain and difficulty, I have decided not to say any more about it, because I simply do not want to spoil the fun for anyone who decides to watch this show after reading this.
Other sketches included Sheikhs and the City, a spoof of Sex and the City, Napoleon, the London Olympics, and Omid's special mix of jokes, which are not always totally PC, but so totally relevant and funny, you soon indulge and enjoy.
